Text Box: The conference will begin with registration that will be held from 2:00 – 5:00 on Tuesday afternoon, June 10th, in the library off the lobby of the Spruce Point Inn. The opening event
will be a reception dinner at 6:00 in the Pemiquid Room at the Inn.

Each morning, breakfast will be followed by a presentation by one of our featured speakers. Following that, there will be several, concurrent break-out sessions at which selected participants will read from or present their work.

There will be a box lunch available on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, and participants might like to bring their lunches along with them to one of the afternoon off-site activities or enjoy them on the grounds of the Inn. The afternoon sessions will include guided hikes, tide pool explorations, trips to the Maine Botanical Gardens and to the Burnt Island Lighthouse, writing/photography/drawing workshops, as well as readings that will be open to the Boothbay Harbor community as our way of thanking them for their hospitality.

Wednesday evening will be the Keynote Dinner and Thursday evening will be an opportunity for participants to have dinner on their own at one of the local seafood restaurants or at the Newagen Inn, located on Southport Island where Rachel Carson had her summer home and about which she wrote with great affection. Participants are invited to return to the Spruce Point Inn on Thursday evening for desert and beverages and for an informal open mic session at which participants will be encouraged to read from their “work in progress.”

The conference will conclude on Friday, following the morning break-out sessions, and participants will be invited to enjoy a light snack before leaving the Inn.
